We are very, very excited to announce that Bookry, the new service from Class Widgets, is now online.
If you’re a Class Widgets user then you’ve probably been wondering why Class Widgets has been so quiet for the past few months. Well, this is the answer! We’ve been working hard on building Bookry – a shiny new platform for readers, authors and publishers of iBooks Author interactive books.
From the beginning of 2012 it became clear to us that users of iBooks Author needed more than just the odd widget from Class Widgets. We were getting enquiries from authors, teachers, trainers, students, publishers, creatives (the list goes on and on), for more widgets, bespoke widgets, iBooks Author templates, commercial licenses, reader analytics, and advice on publishing and sharing books created with iBooks Author. So we came up with Bookry.
With Bookry you can place fantastic interactive content into your digital books made with iBooks Author, publish and share them online through your very own BookStores, and track reader activity with up-to-date analytics.
Bookry is aimed at anyone who is passionate about interactive books. Apple’s free iBooks Author is an amazing piece of authoring software and there are thousands of authors out there using it to produce fantastic multi-touch books – we know, because Class Widgets has clocked up over 30,000 customized widgets in the past 6 months. We like to think that Bookry works alongside iBooks Author in breaking down the barriers to professional eBook creation, for both new and existing authors.
Hard-core Class Widget users need not worry about our focus though. Cool widget generation will always remain at the heart of Bookry and we aim to launch at least one new widget per month. We’re already working on a long list of your widget requests, so check out our Widget Forum to see if yours is in development. If not, then get your request in quick! We’re pretty much convinced that we can do almost any sort of widget (within iBooks Author technical limits, of course!) so the only thing stopping you from creating the ultimate interactive book is your imagination.
We hope that you find Bookry useful and enjoy using it. We’d love to hear your feedback, so let us know how you get on. Please follow us @thebookry with the Bookry launch tag of #authorsletloose and befriend us on Facebook! Have fun and we look forward to hearing from you.
Rhys, Tom and Susan.
