An in-depth and interesting guide to Sochi – a relatively unknown city in Russia that will host the Winter Olympics in 2014. The author Dominic Basulto recently made the decision to write this digital book after struggling to find a dedicated travel resource for the city. He figured that there had to be others out there just like him, who were looking for a guide to Sochi, especially as excitement builds for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The book contains 13 chapters and 100+ photos and videos that cover everything from Olympic Sochi previews, to in-depth articles on every major tourist attraction in Greater Sochi.
Using Bookry widgets Dominic was able to add interactive features to the book so that readers could experience Sochi in real-time. He used the Instagram widget to stream recent photos of the city into the book. He also used the Twitter widget to display live tweets from people visiting the city and the dynamic Google Map widget to illustrate places to eat and stay, which he plans to update regularly. Dominic says; “The #1 complaint of people buying travel guides is that they become obsolete within a year – I wanted to avoid that by creating an iPad-native guide that would remain fresh with new content”.
If you plan on visiting Sochi or just want to learn more about this beautiful city, then this book is an excellent resource. You can download a free sample of “White Snow / Black Sea” from The Gallery on Bookry or on the iBookstore, where the full version is also on sale.
